Galaxies

Galaxies are massive structures comprising billions of stars with associated planetary systems, dust gas, nebulae and even black holes.

Galaxies come in all sorts of shapes & sizes, from spirals such as our own Milky Way through to the rather odd irregular galaxies. They often occur in clusters & those clusters in super clusters.

To image the small distant ones requires a telecope such as the Hubble Space Telescope, but some are within reach of small ground based telescopes and here are a few for you to enjoy ...
